About the Owners of Southern Prep and Southern Athletics...
Southern Athletics was founded by Matt Cremers in 1995. Matt graduated from Florida State University in 1992 where he cheered and also received his degree in Sports Medicine & Health Education. He then worked towards his Master’s degree at the University of Georgia, where he also cheered. From there he coached at Georgia Tech for 4 years. Matt has been working with children in the sport of gymnastics and cheerleading for over 15 years. He has been honored many awards including most Ethical Program Director and Coach of the Year. Matt was listed in the nationwide directory of Who’s Who for Professional Executives in Business America.
In 2004, Matt married Angela who is a native of Atlanta where she competed for many years as a high-level gymnast. Angela graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation. After an advanced internship at the Children’s Institute in Pittsburg, she began practicing as a pediatric therapist at the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. During this time she met her devoted husband Matt and moved back to Atlanta where she owned and operated Jungle Jim Movement Education, Inc. There she taught gymnastics classes to toddlers, ran “The Best” birthday parties in town, and offered six different types of therapies to children with special needs. Since Matt and Angela had their first child in September of 2006, they decided to merge the two businesses together to allow for a more family-oriented approach.
